How to Promote Your Business Locally

How to promote your business locally is often overlooked once you are promoting online. Promoting your business locally is very effective for your business because that is where your nearest customers are. Before you are progressing to promote business locally, make sure if your business plans to meet the needs of consumers in your nearby neighborhood. If your business reaches consumers all over the world, this way of promoting your business locally may not be suitable.

3 Quick But Powerful Strategy to Promote Your Business Locally

Placing Ads

Yes, it is old fashioned. Advertising has the power to introduce. Before you go all out in advertising, consider your marketing costs. Do advertisements that attract the attention of potential consumers in your environment. Magazines, or local newspapers are the right media to start promoting your business locally.

If your budget is big enough, you can also consider billboards. Of course, this marketing cost will be very expensive, but it is effective in introducing your business locally.

Make Brochures or Pamphlets

To reduce marketing costs, brochures and pamphlets are a good way. Choose crowded locations. The pamphlet or brochure structure should follow the landing page structure with the Call-to-action section directed to:

  • a page that you have specially designed to filter out interested consumers
  • special e-mail to receive consumer inquiries from pamphlets/brochures
  • business phone number

The existence of a page is most effective because the page functions as a (Landing Page) funnel to filter out interested consumers and consumers who are ready to buy.

If you want to rely on email or phone number, be sure to ask consumers how they found your business (whether from brochures, pamphlets, websites, viewing billboards or being recommended by friends, etc.)

It’s important enough to know where consumers are coming from. In this way you can improve how to promote business locally in the future so that it is more cost efficient and more profitable.

Introducing Business Logos / Brands on Various Occasions

Businesses need to build awareness to consumers so they know your business exists. Building consumer awareness can be started from wearing business attributes such as uniforms, stickers, to distributing promotional gifts to consumers for free.

Small and simple things like that will build public awareness which will encourage interest in trying your services/business products. Slowly, your business builds a strong brand image.

Social Media

It is admitted that using social media to promote your business is the most cost effective. It’s not absolutely true. Social media is a tricky media when you want to introduce business into it. The type of your offers and your target customers will affect the decision to use social media or not.

Another homework after you decide social media is right for promoting your business:

“Does it really bring sales into your business?”

You need to evaluate it, don’t go all out in social media promotion blindly.

It is important to think strategically, start from small things, evaluate and perfect the strategy to promote your business locally.
