Ways to Repurpose Content

Ways to repurpose content is a way out for content creator creativity. When you’re stuck and you just don’t have enough time, sometimes repurpose content can make you and your team’s work easier. This method is the fastest way to provide high-quality content according to what your audience wants.

Understanding Content Repurposing

Before discussing further, it’s good for us to know what repurpose content is. We can say repurpose content or content recycling is a strategy of reusing content that has been created to reach a wider audience.

The purpose of recycling here could be to reuse the content in its entirety or take advantage of some elements of the content to change the format of the content (for example, turning blog articles into infographics).

6 Ways to Repurpose Content

1. Republish an existing post

The easiest and fastest way to repurpose content is to upload content back to social media where the content is nested.

However, it should be noted that this method will not be as good as before in terms of increasing the ranking or visibility of social media accounts or websites.

However, social media and website algorithms are smart enough to detect which content is organic and which is otherwise.

Even so, by republishing content, you and your team will have a chance in reaching a large audience, even more than before. The steps are very easy to do; It only takes you and your team 1-2 minutes to do it!

2. Repurpose Content for Guest Post

We know for ourselves that websites and social media provide a guest post feature to make it easier for us to expand the reach of our accounts, by “hitching” posts on other places.

However, we also remember how little time we have to take care of needs outside of the main task. Even if I’m being honest, creating one more piece of content in full is really a hassle and adds to the workload.

That’s why you and your team can repurpose content for guest post reason. By recycling content that has been created, you can create content that matches the character of the host, without losing the character of your brand.

For example, let’s say you have an article about a marketing gimmick, and want to do a guest post on the host’s website that focuses on the topic of marketing strategy.

Without bothering to create content from scratch, we can crop a few paragraphs of writing to be processed into new content that matches the character of the host’s website and ours.

Repurposing content from old content about marketing gimmick such as discussing several examples of implementing a marketing gimmick or, an example of a product from a marketing gimmick.

3. Transform Content into Other Form

This is the next easy method that you and your team can apply. Even if I’m being honest, notordinaryblogger sometimes also likes to use it. Namely by creating facebook content from articles that are already on the blog.

4. Split Bulk Content into a Few

You and your team can also repurpose content by breaking it into smaller parts. As an easy illustration, let’s say you were once made an article about social media marketing strategies for e-Commerce businesses. The article more or less discusses the definitions, benefits, and strategies for optimizing an e-Commerce business on social media.

However, as we all know, there are various social media platforms, from Facebook, Instagram, to TikTok. Each of these platforms has its own characteristics, so the marketing strategy will be different from one another.

Therefore, the part of the article that discusses social media platforms, can be repurposed content into “several complementary articles” with more specific and in-depth discussion. It is no longer as common as in the previous article.

5. Add Update into Old Content

I highly recommend this method to you, especially if your article on a website ranks 1st on Google. Not only can you save a lot of time, you can also provide your audience with up-to-date, relevant, and useful information.

By adding the word “latest update” to the title of the article, for example. Your readers, both prospective and those who have read articles, will be interested in reading your articles to the end. Because, there will be a feeling that your article is truly unique and cannot be found on other websites.

6. Repurpose content for email marketing

Maybe some of you have opened an notordinaryblogger email, and saw one of the contents directing you to an article on notordinaryblogger  as soon as you clicked on it. Apart from including an email marketing strategy, this method is also part of repurpose content practices.

By repurposing content, we try to recycle articles on the website into e-mail content with a much smaller number of words, so that you feel interested in continuing to read it on the website. Did you notice?

For those of you who haven’t subscribed to notordinaryblogger, you might feel confused by this explanation and don’t get the picture. Unfortunately, I can’t give you an example just like that, because there is privacy in it.

Try All Ways to Repurpose Content

Repurpose content is the easiest alternative when you and your team are being chased by deadlines, but haven’t thought about what content you want to create. Especially if you want viral content or at least get high engagement.

Make sure that repurpose content is done properly and not excessively. Don’t let your audience be presented with the same content, because over time they will get bored with your account. Repurpose content to engage your audience and grow your business brand.
