Readable Font and Size
The downward of free blog templates is their restriction. Once in a while you may not able to modify font size easily. If this occur you have to do that manually using “the html code” on template editor.
Good Color Scheme
It is essential to have a clutter-free and clean blog yet you don’t have to bore your audiences with plain design. People may be attracted by the good color scheme and how easy they are to read. You need to spend enough time selecting the proper color for your blog. Combining a good color scheme may become a reason why your blog is memorable. However, avoid yourselves from using overbearing or flashy colors is best opt if you are not certain on what colors to use.

Hi Okto,
Best things in life come for free! Though freebies have their limits but if the site owner can optimize his own site then it may be worth the effort.
For those businessmen who are trying to use their website solely for business generation need to have a customized design for sure!

These are really very helpful and useful tips for choosing a best blog template for business…………….Okto great dude…….Before starting a blog every one needs to go through such guidelines..
Free is just a magical word. Nowadays everyone wants to get everything Free. Free blog templates are good but I think for those who can’t afford It has a negative effect like, the premium themes of WordPress are more secure than the free themes. The security options of free themes don’t generally update themselves automatically when the premium themes do.
By the way a great post. Have a nice weekend.
Hello Okto,
I’ll say that our template is as important as our titles and writing. our theme/ template is what makes our blog and a sluggish template can slow down our blog’s performance.
You have written a well article on free themes/ template buddy. Have a nice weekend 🙂

Hi Babanature,

Hi Pendar Bintang,
The best bet to choose template is as describe above. Clean design is always good for new blog because visitors’ will focus on what we are trying to deliver through our content.
The bad side of free template is sometimes it gives technical errors (missing post/article or etc). There’s nothing we can do about since we get it for free anyway. So, just choose another theme that is not giving us too many issues and stick with it.
Hope that answer your problem.

I haven’t used a free template in so long Okto but I do know that I preferred, and still do, the clean, crisp and simple look. I think that says a lot about us as a person and of course a business.
You definitely want something that your readers can navigate easily and of course you can make changes to as well. I know now all free templates are as flexible but my goodness they sure have a lot of nicer ones then they did several years ago when I was using them.
Thanks for sharing this and I have a feeling others will really find this helpful.

Hi Okto
I haven’t used a free WordPress theme in quite a while either but it’s a good place to start.
I’m the same as Adrienne. I don’t like websites that look too busy with psychedelic colours everywhere that make things hard to read.
The best thing is to keep things simple and definitely easy to navigate.
Thank you for sharing these tips.
My first time visiting this blog, you live in Indonesia? okay just one thing that makes me amazed at you, the first thing is that you can provide content in two languages, which in fact it is difficult for most other bloggers… success for you..
Great post Okto,
The main reason why people normally use free blog templates is because they don’t have the money to purchase the premium ones especially when the person is just starting.
I also used a free one from Woo theme a couple of months when I started before going the premium route.
It’s also very good to make sure that the template in question is easy configurable and is also risk free before choosing because, some of the free templates out there are vulnerable to hackers.
Thanks for sharing man.
Hi Okto,
Thanks for your analysis. Personally I don’t support Free Templates. We need many re-coding which makes double jobs. Even though we have to change many in premium template, it’s much optimized for SEO. But it depends on what brand you choose.
Hope I shall visit your sites again.
Yes… you are correct.
Hi Adrienne,
I believe that the essence of blog is to deliver the content. Thus, clean, simple and crisp are best options to take because these three will make sure audiences take the message properly.
When audiences grab the message properly, slowly but sure we are build authority through our blog.

Hi,
Thanks for the answer, I have tried as per your suggestion 🙂
Responsive site is as important as having a blog now.
More users browse through mobile. Not having responsive template gonna drop our blog authority.

It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers will make good content as you did then internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
Hi Okto,
Not everyone in the starting of their blogging career go for paid templates. Though its true that paid templates are better than free ones in many aspects. Though this is not always the case. I have seen many bloggers with Twenty Twelve theme for WordPress but yet they had a good fan following.
When choosing the best template out of free ones, I would look for a template which is mobile responsive and is SEO friendly in terms of design and coding.
Thanks for this post this will help many people to choose a template wisely.
