Overall Bali has around 85 islands, including uninhabited ones.

The province of Bali is located between 8°3’38” – 8°50’56” South Latitude and 114°25’53” – 115°42’39” East Longitude. The area of ​​Bali Province is about 5,636.66 km2, it stretches 153 km long and 112 km wide. Bali is surrounded by waters that are the boundaries of the province, namely:

• North : Bali Sea

• South : Indian Ocean

• West : Bali Strait

• East : Lombok Strait

Bali is a very beautiful island with a long coastline of about 633.35 km. On the island of Bali there are volcanoes, rivers, and lakes. The existence of volcanoes provides soil fertility for agriculture. The volcanoes on the island of Bali are Mount Batur and Mount Agung. The highest point in Bali is Mount Agung with altitude of 3,148 m and last erupted in 1963. Meanwhile, Mount Batur’s eruption had produced a major disaster on earth about 30,000 years ago.

Most of the Balinese population religion is Hindu. In almost every corner of the area there are temples of worship, both large temples that are used as a place for joint ceremonies and small temples in every house. Therefore, apart from being known as the Island of the Gods, Bali is also known as the Island of a Thousand Temples. Strong religious rituals influence almost every element of Balinese life. This makes Bali not only has beautiful scenery but also a unique, exotic, and well-maintained culture. Bali is an international tourist destination that is often better known than Indonesia.

Balinese people adhere to the Tri Hita Karana philosophy of life which contains three elements of building balance and harmony in the relationship between man and God, among humans, and man and his environment. Tri Hita Karana is a source of prosperity, peace, and happiness for human life.

Bali’s economy is largely supported by the tourism sector. Denpasar is the center of government and economy until now. Several new economic activities and areas have been and are being developed to support the tourism sector, such as the creative economy, maritime tourism, and ecotourism in Ubud, Nusa Dua, Seminyak, Jimbaran, and several other places.
