Asian District

Local foodies know OKC’s Asian District is where you’ll find incredible food and cultural experiences. An influx of Vietnamese immigrants in the 1970s created a hub now known for its Asian fusion cuisine. Here you’ll find some of the best Asian restaurants, including authentic Vietnamese food that rivals any found this side of Pacific. This district also hosts popular food tours and festivals, plus a variety of other retail and commerce. Location : NW 23rd Street and Classen Boulevard

Automobile Alley

Once home to more than 50 car dealerships and their related services, the Automobile Alley district in downtown Oklahoma City is thriving with new shopping boutiques, residences, restaurants and galleries. Neon signs still hang from its original buildings where the past and present combine to make this district effortlessly cool. Enjoy great shopping, dining, nightlife options and unique art experiences such as Factory Obscura and Oklahoma Temporary Arts Center. Location: N. Broadway Avenue from NW4th to NW10th Streets.

Boathouse District

Whether you want to train like an Olympian or just have some fun, the Boathouse District along the Oklahoma River is specifically designed for outdoor recreation. It’s the official U.S Olympic and Paralympic Training Site for rowing and canoe/kayak, but also has an ever-growing list of other activities and hosts numerous regattas and waterfront events throughout the year. Bricktown Entertainment District

Just a short walk or streetcar ride from downtown hotels, event venues and attractions, this former warehouse district is filled with restaurants, shopping, nightlife and family friendly entertainment options. From taking a water taxi ride along the Bricktown Canal to catching an Oklahoma City Dodgers’ baseball game, Bricktown is a well-established entertainment district with a variety of hotel options easily within walking distance of all kinds of fun. Location: Sheridan Avenue & Mickey Mantle Drive

City Center

Marked by the skyscrapers that form Oklahoma City’s skyline, City Center includes the hustle and bustle of downtown mixed with several must-see urban destinations such as the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. Discover everything from urban parks to public art, splurge-worthy dining and even unexpected places like the Underground, a network of tunnels that connects a large part of this district while housing restaurants, businesses, and art installations. Just a few minutes walk from any downtown hotel, visitors can explore Myriad Botanical Gardens or Scissortail Park. Location: Reno & Robinson Avenue.

Deep Deuce

The Deep Deuce district of Oklahoma City is small but carries tremendous historical significance as a metro center for jazz music and African-American culture. In the 1940s, it was one of the largest African-American neighborhoods in Oklahoma City and home to legendary jazz musicians such as Charlie Christian and Jimmy Rushing. Today, Deep Deuce is home to local favorites such as Deep Deuce Grill, Bar Cicchetti and the Wedge Pizzeria. Also located in the district, ARTSPACE at Untitled offers opportunities for the community to engage with contemporary artists. Location: NE 1st Street & Central Avenue

Midtown

Located just north of downtown, Midtown is home to an electic mix of locally-owned restaurants such as McNellie’s Public House, Café do Brasil, 1492 New World Latin Cuisine, Ludivine, Elemental Coffee, Stella Modern Italian Cuisine, Packard’s New American Kitchen, The Collective and more. Historic landmark such as the Sieber and the triangular-shaped Plaza Court building are all located within Midtown. It is also home to the boutique hotel, the Ambassador. Location NW 10th Street & Walker Avenue

Paseo Arts District

The Paseo Arts District is Oklahoma City’s artist community, boasting more than 20 galleries and studios with more than 80 artists. This historic Spanish-style village also features restaurants, a coffee house, clothing boutiques and unique gift shops. Enjoy the First Friday Gallery Walk on the first Friday every month from 6-9pm. First Friday night showcase the new work of studio owners or the work of guest artists, along with wine tasting and live music. Location: between NW 28th Street & Walker Avenue and NW 30th Street & Lee Avenue.

Plaza District

The Plaza District is one of Oklahoma City’s revitalized commercial districts, home to businesses that boast a creative, local flavor. Visit hip restaurants, retails shops, studios and galleries and attend performances at the renovated Lyric Theater at the Plaza. The curated and rotating mural project, Plaza Walls, features creative works by more than 25 artists from around the world. Location: NW 16th Street between Classen Boulevard & Penn Avenue.

Stockyards City

Visit this historic commercial district located just minutes from downtown. See real cowboys at work every week during the world’s largest live cattle auction. Shops Oklahoma’s most complete variety of authentic Western shops, enjoy the West’s best steak at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse and observe craftsmen producing handmade items from boots, spurs, hats and clothing to saddles, tack, jewelry and Western art. Livestock auctions begin at 8 am every Monday. Location: Agnew Exit, South of I-40 to Exchange Ave.

Uptown 23rd

Home to one of the newest neighborhood revitalizations in OKC, the Uptown 23rd District blends modern amenities with historic charm. Uptown is located along historic route 66 with many iconic landmarks such as the Tower Theater and Oklahoma City University’s gothic towers. Locals love this district’s ever-growing list of restaurants, boutiques, diverse live music scene, street art and more. Location: NW 23rd Street between Robinson & Penn Avenues.

Western Avenue

Surrounded by beautiful older neighborhoods that offer an abundance of charm and heritage, Western Avenue’s roots go back to the days of historic Route 66. The Western Avenue district offers and electic mix of local restaurants and bars, retail shops and boutiques, antique and furniture stores and fine art galleries. Location: between NW 36th Street & Wilshire Boulevard on Western Avenue.
