Experience Using Hotwire Hotel Bookings
Satisfied with the experience of using hotwire car rental, of course it is interesting to try hotel booking from hotwire. On June 20th I made a booking for early July 2021 in San Antonio.
The ordering process is very easy, not much different from the car rental ordering process that I have done before. A confirmation email was obtained, I was calm waiting for the arrival date.

Even hotwire sent me reminder, a feature which was very helpful since I booked the hotel in advance.
I was surprised once I arrived at the hotel. My reservation from hotwire was not found.

As a consumer of course I contact hotwire customer service. It is difficult to reach customer service by phone but they are very responsive via SMS.
My problem was solved after waiting for 1 hour via SMS service.
They gave a refund plus a $20 hotdollar that could be used for future bookings.
Am I happy? Of course not.
It took about 3 hours drive to get to this hotel with my family, then I waited 1 hour only to find out that they apologized that I didn’t get the hotel which have been confirmed via email.
At this point, it seemed pointless to be angry because it was clear I was in another city, with no clarity on where to sleep that night and children waiting in the car.
Finally, I booked a hotel using another provider that I was used to even though the price was obviously more expensive because I booked on the same day.

Is Hotwire Legit
That’s my experience with hotwire. If asked once again is hotwire legit, of course I can’t say hotwire is a scam. My experience booking a car rental with hotwire in Atlanta, United States is very impressive. But the positive experience seemed to be tested with my disappointment stranded in San Antonio because my hotel booking was canceled without any notification. At least their SMS customer service is quite responsive.

That is my experience in answering “is hotwire legit”. I do hope it is useful in answering your curiosity. It is nothing wrong if you want to book through hotwire, I found them reliable for car rental yet not so lucky with hotel booking. The worst can happen is that you got cancelled and spend 1 – 2 hours making clarification, then you have to make new reservation in very short time. At least its guarantee they return your money if your reservation got cancelled.
