Dinosaur Valley State Park might be one of the places that is recommended if you’re in Texas. I’ve been there. It took me about 4 hours drive to reach this location. That’s why, if you have the same condition, need to travel to reach this location, it’s natural to wonder if it’s worth it.
Location of Dinosaur Valley State Park
As the name implies, this location is part of the State Park in the United States. The address is at 1629 Park Rd 59, Glen Rose, TX 76043. Road conditions are good enough to reach this location by car. With the help of GPS, you will have no trouble finding this location.
Don’t get tricked by Dinosaur World, which is also near to the Dinosaur Valley State Park. You’ll pass through the Dinosaur World on your way to the Dinosaur Valley State Park.

Dinosaur Valley State Park is an outdoor location offering natural beauty. The joy of visit may depends on the weather and who you visit this location with.
Visiting during the summer may not be so fun for everyone, especially young children. However, visiting when the weather is cold may also be a bad choice.
Children aged 3-6 years may not really understand the fun of seeing dinosaur tracks in this state park, especially if the weather is too hot, the child’s mood can change quickly. If you want to take kids in this age range during hot summer, be sure to bring their favorite food supplies, sunscreen, and maybe a folding chair and a mat.
The rainy season will also affect the pleasure of visiting this location. I arrived where the night before was a thunder storm in Glen Rose, Texas. As a result, many trails had to be closed due to muddy and dangerous conditions. The situation is certainly not pleasant, but who can predict the weather with 100% accuracy?.
One sure thing that will not fail to please the children is the flow of the river. There are several points where visitors can enjoy the cool water of the Paluxy River at the Dinosaur Valley State Park. This is why it is useful to bring a folding chair, a mat and may be extra clothes for kids .

If you’re planning on bringing kids, access to the Paluxy River might be a lifesaver. Your child will enjoy playing for a long time in this spot.
If you come to the Dinasour Valley State Park without children and want to explore the dinosaur tracks or trails the state park has to offer, pay attention to the weather forecast, heavy rain the night before you arrive may reduce your enjoyment of exploring this state park.
Is Dinosaur Valley State Park Worth It?
I have to drive about 4 hours to reach this location. Hence I decided to spend the night in advance at a nearby hotel. In Texas, I do not know any other state parks that offer real dinosaur tracks, so Dinosaur Valley has this advantage.
