Downtown Houston is a location that will give a different impression in this city. Typical modern views such as tall buildings, attractive city parks, sports stadiums, to city trains, all of which will become modern views of a big city that you will not get if you stay in an area other than downtown. Ensure Goal
Before you hunt for cheap hotels in the downtown area of Houston, make sure you understand exactly what the goal is. Are you staying because of transit from the airport, are you staying because of work, are you staying because of vacation, or what are you looking for?
I happen to have lived for a while in the West area of Houston. There aren’t many big city views in this area, they all feature the same buildings. If you also live in this area, you will understand what I mean.
Very different from the view you get if you walk around downtown Houston. The typical big city view with tall buildings during the day turns into sparkling lights at night. Another characteristic, electric trains in the city (Metro Rail), and cop with bikes.
So my goal is simple, I want to experience Downtown Houston from morning, evening, to night, what it’s like. Staying at a hotel for that experience may be overkill, but I think it’s an interesting idea (as long as the price is competitive).

Consider Surrounding Area
Checking out the area around cheap Downtown Houston hotels is just as important as setting goals. Price may be important, but the surrounding area is no less decisive to enhance your stay experience.
If you have kids, maybe Discovery Green would be a fun location to visit. If you want to try the Houston MetroRail, the Downtown location is an important line for that train. Looking for a good restaurant or shopping in phoenicia? Downtown is a great location.

Good Food and Cheap Is No Less Important
If you are lucky, there will be a secret location for culinary that offers great taste and friendly prices. At least that’s what I experienced. I won’t reveal it now, it will be explained after I disclose the name of the hotel.
