Boykin springs camping is another attraction besides the waterfall. But I haven’t had a chance to try it yet.
Summary Boykin Springs Recreation Area
As previously discussed, the main attraction for me is the waterfall. I can’t imagine there is a waterfall not too far from Houston. When I came to this location, it was construction ongoing. Little bit worry because I was not sure if the recreation area was open or not.
Another problem was the T-mobile simcard has absolutely no signal. After a trip for 3 hours, enter quite deep into the forest, in front of the gate boykin springs recreation area and there was a sign that was not very clear whether you were allowed to enter or not.

Seeing that situation? Do you think boykin springs recreation area is closed? After all the effort to reach here, I decided to continue slowly. Finally, there was a car parked, a sign that there were other visitors at this location.
This location was under renovation when I arrived. I’m not very familiar with this location, and the kids seemed tired from traveling. Hiking seems very interesting, but not for 5-year-old.
Boykin Springs Waterfall is directly visible from the parking location. Not as good as I imagined but good enough for a photo or relaxing enjoying the atmosphere accompanied by the sound of waterfall flowing.
According to the information I got, there is still another waterfall on the inside. However, because there was construction happening the entrance from my location, was closed, and had to turn around with the car. Or can also be reached through hiking. To me the decision was a gamble, and there’s a 5-year-old kid in waiting who didn’t look like she’s going to enjoy hiking.
Flowing river with white sand looks like water on the beach. Such a place never fails to make children happy. That’s where my kids and I spent hours in the boykin springs recreation area.
Can you swim there? I didn’t, but there were other visitors swimming or relaxing on a tube at Boykin Lake.

Is boykin springs recreation area worth a visit? I think yes. If you come there with children aged 5 or under, make sure to bring, sand toys, enough food and chairs. If you like fishing, it’s perfect for you, you enjoy fishing, the children will not get bored playing sand in the Boykin Lake water flows.
