Emergency visa to Indonesia may be given to foreigner in emergency situation. Due to the Covid pandemic, there’s only two possible reason for emergency situation: the death of the immediate family or the illness of the immediate family.

If you are United States citizen and your mother in Indonesia seriously ill, you are in relevance as immediate family, because you have parents / child relationship. In this condition, you may apply for emergency visa to the Consulate / Embassy of Indonesia in your country.
Requirements for Applying Emergency Visa to Indonesia
Your main task to apply an emergency visa to Indonesia is to prove your claim.
Proof of emergency situation you have. If you said your family being hospitalized or seriously ill, provide medical records / hospital admission / doctor statement. If your family died, provide death record.
In the case of emergency for parents or child, birth certificate is the best document to proof your relationship.
In the case you are siblings, birth certificate of you and your sibling may be used as the evidence of the family relationship, or Kartu Keluarga (family card, in Indonesian administrative system).
In the case you are spouse, marriage certificate is the strongest evidence of your relationship.
Your information (name, address, employment status, marital status, email and mobile number)
Your sponsor information (copy of the sponsor’s ID, name, address, employment status, marital status, email and mobile number)
Payment: you need to ask the Consulate/Embassy to ensure the mode of payment being accepted. There will be visa processing fee that is common practice by all Embassy/Consulate in the world.
Related documents: depends on the process of the visa issuance of each Embassies/Consulates. Due to Covid, most likely there is limitation for in-person meeting. All visa process can be done online or through mail. Visa processing through mail means you have to provide prepaid envelope to return your passport and visa on it to your desired address.
