This post is part of euro trip planner. The Eiffel tower in Paris is a destination that is very likely to be on every euro trip planner. This review will briefly explain what can be done around the Eiffel tower. After completing your car pick-up at Europcar Charles de Gaulle airport, you can head to Paris. Don’t get surprise on difficulties to find parking lot near hotel. After getting the right direction we were confused again where to take the parking ticket and how to open the door to the parking lot. There was only a wire fence, it turned out that after taking the parking ticket, the wire gate opened.

Before I got there, I was browsing where the cheapest place to park a car around the hotel. Parking at Novotel 29Euro/day. Other places are only slightly cheaper at around 20-25Euro. In the end, I just parked at the Novotel. In Paris, if you want to save even more, park on the street after 19.00. After 7pm to 9am and all Sunday, parking is free (yet security is at your own risk).
I chose to stay at the Novotel Paris Center Tour Eiffel (check HERE) because this hotel is the cheapest for hotels close to the Eiffel Tower even though it is still expensive for our budget. The price is 216Euro with no breakfast (booked it two months in advance). The rest of the walk to Eiffel is about 800 meters and from the front of the hotel, the Eiffel is already visible. Deliberately choose this hotel so that it will be a pleasant experience for family.
After we finished showering, we headed to the Eiffel Tower. It is best to enjoy Eiffel tower in the evening to night. Something has changed in Eiffel, apparently around Eiffel has been fenced off for some time. Officials there said it is to prevent acts of terrorism. The last time I was here was 2012 and 2016, it was still free to enter. At present, visitors have to queue for X-ray luggage then have to queue to buy tickets and queue again to take the elevator. Luckily, children under 15 only paid 1/2 of the adult ticket. The ticket price to get to the top and use the elevator is 25.5Euro (adult), and 12.7Euro (children). There is another price if you only get to the 2nd floor or the middle level of the Eiffel and there is a cheaper ticket price if you take the 704 stairs to the 2nd floor. During night only tickets with elevator are sold.

I tried the cheapest ticket to reach Eiffel tower top on 2012, I tried to climb the stairs. Besides being cheaper, the queue is not snaking long. Pretty tiring, but worth with taking photos once you arrived. In 2016 I came back here with 7 friends who didn’t want to go up to the Eiffel, they were quite content to relax while rolling around beautifully on the lawn in front of the Eiffel.
Eiffel is very beautiful at night. You can’t linger at the top because the wind doesn’t make it strong. Arrived on the 2nd floor, took some photos for a while then queued again for the elevator that would go up to the top. Do not need to spend much time at the top and immediately went down and returned to the hotel.

After finishing breakfast, we took a walk around the Eiffel and along the Seine River. This hotel is located in front of the Seine. Starting from the Pont de Granelle (Granelle Bridge) through the park until passing a little Pont de Bir Hakeim. Evrything is beautiful and quiet. Maybe because it’s Sunday. It’s not boring to look at the Eiffel and take pictures with the Eiffel background. Want to go to Trocadero which is not far away but time was limited. We want to go to the Louvre Museum before continuing our journey to Amsterdam.

Back to the hotel then check out. Parking payment is made at the ticket machine using a credit card. The second experience at the Louvre museum parking we became familiar with parking in Europe. If I’m not mistaken the parking fee is 3Euro for the first 30 minutes. I went to the Louvre with a target of 30 minutes. The kids just wanted to take photos in front of the Louvre Museum’s glass pyramid. I also didn’t invite them into the museum apart from the limited time, the children also didn’t quite understand what was in the museum. Personally, I entered the Louvre Museum twice to the gallery where the Monalisa painting is located.
