Menger Hotel San Antonio Reviews is an experience from me who got a chance to stay the night here. The only reason I took the hotel was to find an easy place to stay where I do not think about parking while at the heart of the city of San Antonio, Texas. The Menger Hotel has it to some extent, I’ll explain it here.
Menger Hotel San Antonio Amenities
Some report says Menger hotel haunted history, well, I just noticed about it after I paid everything. I did not cancel my reservation though. San Antonio has many reasons to visit if you are in Texas, and having strategic place to stay the night, might give you more time to enjoy wondering around the city.
Most of booking websites will explain you details on amenities. That’s why I do not need to repeat that here. An important tip I like to share is that the price to stay here is not too cheap yet not so expensive. During holiday season I got the rate around $230 per night, while on regular season it must be around $150 – $175 per night.
There’s no microwave inside the room, which is disadvantage for me, yet you get refrigerator inside room. Breakfast available at the restaurant yet not complimentary, which mean you have to pay if you want to eat breakfast.

The hotel has a swimming pool at medium size. In the summer, it’s going to be full with guest at the pool.
Menger Hotel Parking
Parking is another issue for me beside microwave availability. The hotel only provides valet parking for $35 per night (tax not yet included and will be charged to your hotel room bill). There’s public parking nearby. I am traveling with a child, thus walking few minutes with luggage from public parking to reach the hotel is not a good option for me.
Valet parking can be accessed from the back side of the hotel (entrance to Menger hotel valet is through E Crockett Street. Once you are in this street, follow the sign to Menger Hotel. You will also see public parking in E Crockett Street).
Another Bad Side?
Another bad side for Menger hotel San Antonio reviews I’d like to add is that the thin wall between rooms. The building is old, and it’s always good to keep the originality. The wall between rooms feels so thin.
The guest next door to me has a child that get anger in the middle of the night. The child cried out loud and it feels like a child cry inside my room. When some other guest knocks the door next to ours, it feels like someone knocking our door. May be that’s why some people feel the hotel is haunted.
Menger Hotel San Antonio Review Overall
The main reason I book the hotel because the location. It is so strategic at the heart of the main attraction: the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Legoland is also nearby inside the mall which only a few minutes’ walk, a good option if you stay the night with children. Will I get back there? Depends on the rate per night. If the discount is attractive, I may be back to stay the night.
